i am still hanging on to hope that Rob will send out my high dollar Saeco that he claims is finally fixed. i can't believe that someone could be this under-handed and this much of a liar.

but it seems that my experience is a carbon copy of all the other complaints i've found here and on yelp: speedy diagnosis, promises that his staff is very familiar with this machine, "great deal" on repair to get 10 more years of service, delayed repairs b/c of holidays, warehouse people on vacation, short-handed staffing, waiting on hard to find parts...

and now i wait for the 3rd week in a row on "i'll make sure to have it shipped on Friday"

finger's crossed...but i have a bad feeling about this.

i've never dealt with this kind of scammer.

how is it that he hasn't been arrested?

hopefully this updates correctly my original 21 July 2023 post.

i had given up hearing back from Rob and ALatteHotte and every seeing my beloved Saeco Royal Espresso machine. but much to my surprise, I started getting UPS updates that label had been created shortly after my last post. and then sure enough by 27 July my Saeco showed up on my doorstep in the original box that i had sent it out in 4 months ago.

my happiness was very short lived tho, as after opening the box it was clear that the water reservoir and coffee bean hopper were shattered and had to be replaced. i quickly filed a damage loss with UPS and found a source for new water reservoir and coffee bean hopper online.

fast forward to today, after the replacement parts (costing over $100) arrived.

i installed the new plastic parts, and eagerly awaited my first cup of espresso from my freshly repaired machine.

but i was quickly disappointed to find that after an almost normal startup, bean grinding sounds, that the coffee dispensed was signifcantly reduced and took much longer than normal to brew/dispense. it went on forever it seemed.

finally after running a second cup thru the machine for the test, i tried a third cup. but the amount slowly dripping out of the dispenser and the time it took was still significantly off.

i walked away from the kitchen for a short moment and when i returned found that a significant amount of water had leaked thru the machine and onto the counter and was now pooling on the floor.

so now i'm out the $268 repair, the $50 shipping, and the $100 in replacement parts and still do not have a functioning machine.

i will be attempting to contact Rob but do not have any hope that another 4 months in his shop will help my situation, not to mention the potential damage of sending the machine on another round trip to California.

They destroyed my beloved coffee maker

I sent my expensive coffee maker to them for repair in 2021. They kept me waiting for a year and a half, telling me it was fixed and soon to be shipped. Then they suddenly told me it was irreparably broken and would not even refund me!!! Now they wont respond to calls or emails. STAY AWAY from them!!! Btw they are NOTan authorized Saeco repair facility, though they are listed as such online.

This guy, Rob, is an absolute liar. I could pretty much cut and paste any review from here and it would be totally accurate. Sent my machine in for minor maintenance in the original box. I got one back, not even my machine, in a beat up box. Needless to say, as everyone else, endless phone calls, emails, and frustration. Stay as far away from this thief. Karma will find you.

Not an reputable company

Do not be taken in with the expectation of having your coffee maker serviced and or repaired. You will end up spending over $300.00, to have your "non-working" coffee maker returned to you, in the same condition, 4 months later. DAR

No updates. The apparently don’t care.

I’ve disputed charges. No responses at all.

I'm finding the same issues myself. The promised two week turnaround? Nope. The promised ship? WAY late. The promise that all parts are in stock? Nope - they "SAID" they had to order parts. Then I received it, after sending $280, the machine it will do nothing, but flash a message that the dregs drawer is missing (when in fact it is not missing). Also the new filter that was in the machine when we sent it? Missing a well. After reading these comments, I'm now convinced that these people are liars and cheats. Now I simply want a full refund. If they want the machine, fine - they can issue a pickup ticket. I'll be reporting to State of CA Attorney General for fraud. We decided we didn't want another machine from these fraudsters.

Rob operates a one person shop these days. Over the 10 years we have dealt with him, I find he overstates his skills, takes longer than estimated, and charges more than double for parts. His original assessment and repair was revised after, to his credit, he identified the very same issues that made us send it in for repairs. I question his thoroughness. He also likes to hold one's machine hostage for repairs/service--a bit of bullying the customer.

Can I give less than 1 star? Avoid these guys at all costs. Unresponsive. My experience is similar to other recent reviews: I sent in my Saeco machine for repair in mid December of 2018 and prepaid them almost $300. The next 4 months were nothing but excuses and varying stories, mostly that their parts distributor was out of the needed part(s). I finally demanded my machine back along with a refund of the money paid. Yesterday, after almost 5 months, the machine arrived back but it was missing the brew group and power cord, making it completely useless. Refund of what I paid has never been issued. As usual, Rob won't answer any calls. How are they even in business? How is Rob not in JAIL?

I went thru the same thing and I had to hire someone to go and get my machine. I called Saeco and I was told that they are aware of this and they don't deal with Alattehotte anymore.

They also asked me to tell anyone I know that has a Saeco not to work with AlatteHotte.

Here is Saeco's phone number 1-80*-***-****. Check for yourself, they will give you the places where to send your machine.

Run away fast

I sent my machine to be repaired and was told a three day turn around. It did take three days but it took that long to get the estimate from them. I agreed to pay what they were asking . It took several weeks to get my machine back and to my surprise it would not grind the coffee beans. After several conversations with (the liar,Rob) I was told that he had coffee from my machine the morning before it left his shop. To my credit I was able to work on the machine myself and discovered the grinder was wired backwards (reverse polarity). Also the water tank and lid that came back was not the same that I sent him. the tank has a crack in it the lid is chipped all around the edges. also the lazy Susan that fits on the underside of the machine was never returned to me. I called (the liar and now thief) Rob and he said that he would order new parts for me. That was in December we are now at March 26th. I have been trying to call (the liar/thief) Rob with no return calls. If you are thinking of sending your machine to (the liar thief) Rob get back into you car and drive away as fast as you can. I am required to pick how many stars that I would give him. If I could sent this with no stares I would. Rob If you ever come to Reno look me up we can have a cup of coffee and talk about how badly you run your company. You have my address...

Since my original review, same thing. As late as yesterday, after 5 more reassuring calls, the owner (Rob), still tells me he doesn't understand why my machine, that he personally tested and put on the shipping counter over 2 weeks ago, has not been received by me.

He will look into it and get back to me. Still no call back.

These guys must really be nuts and must enjoy my regular calls looking for my equipment. I really don't ever expect to see it again but if I keep this up long enough, they won't do it to the next guy that comes along.

They effectively stole my machine. Took repair money up front. I sent the machine in. Now nine months later after about 10 phone calls and their continued reasurance thst they will get right on it. Still no machine and I don't ever expect to see it again.

I agree with the above that you should AVOID AlatteHotte and Rob, After being a customer for ten years he has turned into liar and a cheat. The internet is filled with stories that, now I can personally say, I too have had the exact same thing happen. I sent my Odea in to be cleaned and serviced he did neither and sent me back "a machine" (not mine) that was in worse condition than my very lightly used machine and only upon the threat of being sued and a demand letter did he settle by sending me a check to reimburse my shipping cost and the cost of "o rings" he was supposed to install. Rob was to service my machine and return it once I returned from vacation. I tried to communicate with him via email, then phone calls with nothing being returned. When I finally got in touch with him he started with all kinds of excuses about emails and phone service changes that we so outrages that I went from my original plan of getting this machine back while I waited for him to get a shipment of new upgraded machines in, as I was in the market to upgrade as well, to just being happy if I got my old machine back. My machine was sent in the original factory box with all the original packing materials that I kept for 10 years, I am meticulous and cleaned and serviced this machine myself since I bought it. I felt since I was going out of town it would be a good idea to have a "professional" service it. I cleaned it well before packing it. I received "a machine" back, it was returned in a generic box and w/o the power cord and when questioned he claimed the boxed arrived "so damaged" he couldn't return the machine safely in it and that he did me a favor by not charging me. I asked "why did you accept it from FedEx then? I would have filled a claim!" No reply! I then started to tell him that it clearly had never been cleaned as he claimed and that in fact I was positive it wasn't even my machine he started blocking my calls, not returning text not email. When I did get him on the phone he started to try to make me out to be the liar. (I have a video of the machine he sent me and the state it was in that I will post on Youtube.) Only after speaking with my attorney and sending the demand letter that Rob corresponded. The rating of 3.9 is WAY too high and reflects the fact that YES their policies and warranties are great.... the problem is THEY don't follow them.

They promise you the moon and don't deliver ANYTHING!

So I rated their policies highly and their performance abysmally. Do NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY OF THIEVES.

Ordered a Jura machine + starter kit at a great price. Waited months.... always told by Rob.. "its coming, its coming" Finally, months later, it arrived but no starter kit of course. Wasn't really the model we needed so returned for an exchange. The machine was signed for and Rob claimed to have returned it to Jura for exchange. Jura denied this. Rob kept stringing me along. Finally I asked for my money back. No way. So I appealed through my credit card company having saved the long email string with Rob. Credit card company agreed and refunded my $1,600 +. Almost one year after I purchased the machine, I got my money back and now I'm going to go to a legitimate dealer for a new machine. Look...it is not worth any potential savings to deal with this company. You will almost certainly lose more money than you save and I can pretty much guarantee you're going to be intensely frustrated. This company needs to be shut down.

Still no resolution from them. Beyond frustrated.

We had used them twice for repair work - 1st time was great and they were spot on. 2nd time well it's now been a year and a half and I still don't have our coffee maker back or resolution. They won't return my calls and they have FAILED numerous times to deliver on what they have promised. Part had to be made, parts were delayed, repair didn't work, hasn't returned our unit or offer a refund of the money. It's been exhausting trying to deal with them. Completely unacceptable ..............YOU are forcing me to fill a compliant with the Better Business Bureau and possibly other action.

i sent in my exprelia Evo to them for repair it was under warranty on 3/1/17 have not seen it since. they do not return calls and i have no way to get machine back.

this is not right. if you can not repair it you should replace it. i have contacted better business bureau and he does not answer them either. contacted ftc and he doesn't answer them either.

i talked to saeco and he does not answer them either. what kind of business is this.

they are very quick to take your money but service that they sell with product is terrible. i want my machine back.

Read the bad reviews this man lies and is garbage do not buy from him. Took 2 months to get it then it broke in 6 and took him 3 months to get it back. Then at one year it broke again and he said he would fix it even though it was out of warranty. And six months later he sent it back to me. Said it was fixed but still had same issue.

This is to warn you all planning to do business with Rob at AlatteHotte. I purchased two Miele's 6310. One was ok and the other was defective and was returned for replacement. I never received the replacement. After 6 months of asking for the replacement or refund I have received none. Rob is keeping my money $ 1649.15 and will not refund. Discover will not help as the charge was over 6 months. I have been working with Discover to remove this merchant from being able to process charges. No reply as of yet from Discover. The person running the show is not able to help and don't want to.BILL
